At the eve of the 50th anniversary of Jiuzhou’s incorporation, accompanied by Secretary LIU Qibao of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Governor JIANG Jufeng of Sichuan Province, Secretary of CPC Mianyang Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor ZENG Wanming of Mianyang, Premier WEN Jiabao visited Jiuzhou S&T Industrial Park on Nov. 15. Premier WEN delivered an ardent speech when he viewed the busy production in the workshops and hundreds of employees on the square, who came to welcome Premier voluntarily upon hearing the news
The full text of his speech is as follows:
“Hello, everybody! I arrived in Mianyang just today and took a look at the urban planning construction and the residence rebuilding in the countryside. On the way, the Secretary told me that tomorrow would be the 50th anniversary of Jiuzhou and I was very delighted to hear that, so I am here to congratulate with all the Jiuzhou staff. For 50 years since the incorporation, Jiuzhou staff have been hardworking and made great contributions to the national defense construction and the entire industrial construction! In particular, in this struggle against earthquake and relief, you were fearless of any hardship, insisted in production and actively involved in the earthquake relief at the same time. It is especially worthy of carrying forward such your spirit of unselfish contributions at the 50th anniversary of Jiuzhou’s incorporation. Wish you a greater victory on the new journey! Wish Jiuzhou a prosperity and progress day by day! Wish Jiuzhou could be built into a modernized enterprise and make new contributions for our country and people by dint of your efforts!”
