So far, the development of LED industry is confronted with lots of benefits and advantages. The National Outlines for Medium and Long-term Planning for Scientific and Technological Development has expressively identified the semiconductor lighting products as “Key Areas and Prior Themes”, and proposed to “emphasize on the research of semiconductor lighting products featuring high efficiency, energy saving and long service life”.
JM LED railway lighting system is the first step for semiconductor lighting to eventually enter into the high-level transport industry and high-end commercial lighting. Such product has the advantage of being produced strictly in compliance with the safety regulations and systems, so that a complete set of solutions are available for different railway transport corporations, including signal lamps, booth lighting, railway carriage lighting, illuminating lamps for shops, etc. This set of solutions also makes Jiuzhou stride its first step towards the world. Jiuzhou has provided compartment lighting system for Hong Kong MTR Corporation Limited in 2008, and plans to provide the booth lighting systems in 2009. These products also display the advantages of LED: power saving (low power consumption, esp. the high effective lumens. Generally speaking, 90W LED light source is equivalent to 250W high-pressure sodium lamp), strong directivity (intensified vision type); environmental protection, safety and long service life (20,000 ~ 50,000 hours); easy maintenance, high color rendering index (70-80 for LED light source, but the color rendering index for common high-pressure sodium lamp is merely 20-40, with serious color falsification); easy on-off control (usable under low temperature – become bright upon switching on), and tremendous market potential.
It is planned to hold the news conference for releasing the LED compartment lighting system at Choi Hung Station of Hong Kong in February 2009. Based on the advantages of LED as follows: power saving, strong directivity, environmental protection, safety and long service life (20,000 ~ 50,000 hours), easy maintenance and high color rendering indexes as well as the further mature technology, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Jiuzhou Group and Hong Kong MTR reintegrated LED compartment lighting system in 2006, and developed JM-MTRC/B compartment lighting series in 2008, which has been put into mass production now.
